Lifestyle Improvement 2021 (Phase 3)

Lifestyle Improvement Project – Phase 3

NuLife’s Lifestyle Improvement project, started last year, is focused on improving comfort and well-being through home improvement initiatives that help upgrade the quality of life in critical areas linked to hygiene within the confines of beneficiary homes. This initiative seeks to address this often-neglected area of home improvement in financially strapped households with young children and elderlies.

Phase 1 & 2 were completed in November 2020, when festive care packs (pillows, mattresses, bed linen and face masks) were distributed to 129 households in an island-wide distribution effort to coincide with the festive celebration of Deepavali. Phase 3 was completed on 13th April 2021, when 72 selected beneficiary households received care packs comprising pillows, ethnic motif bedsheets, bath towels and one box of frozen curry puffs in a distribution effort timed with ushering in the Tamil New Year and Ramadan. The anti-bacterial, anti-dust mites and anti-fungus pillows was purchased by NuLife – each household received four pillows and a total 278 pillows were distributed.

NuLife is deeply grateful to Blooming Haven & KC Boyz for their support to this project. 56 ethnic motif bedsheets, 56 bath towels and 66 boxes of curry puffs were sponsored by Blooming Haven. Blooming Haven represents a number of like-minded individuals united in their passion for charitable causes and aligned in their objectives to spread goodwill through philanthropy.

Kinetik Concept (KC) Boyz have helped various charity-driven initiatives since the group was formed in 2010. With closely-knit ties and friendships that go back to a shared childhood, the bunch of teenage boys who form the group have evolved to become ‘Boys with a Goal’ – a group devoted to helping those in need.

Special thanks are also due to Ms Serena, a NuLife donor, who garnered support from her friends and delivered towels to the NuLife office.

This drive, in partnership with Cheng San Family Service Centre (FSC), The Salvation Army, THK FSC @ MacPherson, Whispering Hearts FSC, THK FSC @ Bedok North, Methodist Welfare Services Covenant FSC, Masjid Al-Istiqamah@ Serangoon North Ave 2 and Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA), furthered NuLife’s objective of fruitful collaborative partnerships on the ground. The care packs were distributed to identified beneficiaries across Serangoon, Ang Mo Kio, Toa Payoh, Hougang, Buangkok, Punggol, Geylang, Kallang, Bedok, Woodlands, Boon Lay, Bukit Merah, Clementi and Jurong.

The Lifestyle Improvement project highlights the vital need to maintain health and hygiene standards in homes and is only possible when donors come forward to pledge towards this cause.
