“Sharing will enrich everyone with more knowledge”

NuLife Conduit of Resources

Irrespective of whether you are just starting out on your professional journey as a member of the helping profession, or you are a veteran who has been in practice for a long time, you are likely to want to keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in the field.

We invite you to join us in a shared exploration of resources and information (research, data, articles and themes) to put an edge on your skills and further the best interests of the clients you are committed to helping.

Our aim is to create a platform that will facilitate a sharing of ideas so you are able to nurture the most therapeutic relationships with your clients.

We hope you will find the resources below valuable as you expand your professional horizons and upskill yourself.

a) A Genogram is a graphic representation that displays detailed information about a family unit and the quality of relationships between the various individuals in a family unit.

b) An Ecomap is a visual diagram that represents the various systems in the environment that are connected to the individual’s life and the interactions that take place between these systems.

c) Taking into account the intricate nature of human life, the Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory corroborates the fact that individuals are enmeshed in various ecosystems and each of these ecosystems inevitably interact with and influence each other in all aspects of the individuals’ lives.

d) When your brain is exposed to behaviour or thought patterns that it perceives as repeated and unvarying, if your brain is not having to process new information, it reverts to automatic pilot. And because our brains function to a large extent outside your awareness, just like breathing, you’re not even aware of how automatic your ways of thinking are. You become mindless instead of mindful and before you know it, you’ve fallen into mind traps – habitual ways of thinking and behaving that, like most traps, are easy to fall into. Becoming aware of common mind traps would extensively aid in the journey as a helping professional.
