TOGETHER WE HAVE IT ALL – NULIFE DEEPAVALI 2021 – RATIONS DISTRIBUTION

For many of us, festivities mark a series of joyous, harmonious and memorable events that we look forward to experiencing with our group of loved ones periodically. However, with the ongoing pandemic, we may anticipate our festivities experiences be tinged with a sense of apprehension, uncertainty, and discouragement, as opposed to the bright and cheerful hustle and bustle we have been accustomed to over the years of celebrations.

In a kindred effort to spread some light-hearted cheer to our beneficiaries in lieu of the festive season, NuLife coordinated an island-wide distribution of an assortment of rations, goodies and provisions totalling to 150 packets, with the generous support of Ms Susila Ganesan, Dr Indrayogan and team on 23rd October 2021.

The packets were personally delivered to our beneficiaries’ residences with the assistance of KC Boyz, a well-knitted group of volunteers that NuLife has worked in close collaboration with for several of our projects and/or events. It was ensured that the distribution event was adhered in accordance to the safe management measures.

Notwithstanding the dreary circumstances we may have been prescribed to as a community during this pandemic period, we hope that the in-kind distribution event brought some meaning and comfort to our 30 identified beneficiaries and momentarily eased any financial, emotional and social burden that our beneficiaries may have been subjected to in the coping process. It is essential that we remain resilient and united as a community and extend our kindness, empathy and support to one another during arduous times.

Wishing all a happy and safe Deepavali.

As adverse as the circumstances may be, it is important that we work towards embracing resiliency and positivity, which is believed to be emerging in the form of restored community spirit.
